Based out of Chicago, MER began performing as a solo, singer/songwriter in 1997.  Through the years, MER expanded the sound by adding numerous musicians along the way.  Mike Alongi [drums] has been an integral musician in defining MER's sound.  MER and Alongi have been performing, recording, writing and arranging for ten years and the chemistry is evident.  Wheter it's the full band five piece, duo, or solo arrangement, MER's charisma is explosive!
        

For the last ten years, MER has been creating music that transcends many musical genres. MER’s eclectic taste in music has brought forth a "melting pot" of sounds consisting of pop, rock, funk, folk, Latin, and jazz.  No matter what your musical flavor may be, you’ll find something in MER’s music to groove to.  MER's forthcoming full length LP, "Hand Written" [2007], is a pop driven album showcasing MER's singer/songwriter roots.   

MER has dedicated himself to writing diverse and honest music and playing energetic live shows.  MER's devotion to music has earned him the right to share stages with the Violent Femmes, Will Hoge, Gin Blossoms, Better Than Ezra, Marc Broussard, Michael Tolcher, Brian Vander Ark, Matt Wertz, Ari Hest, Pat Green, Grammy nominated Liquid Soul, Fastball, Kill Hannah, John Wesley Harding, Ekoostik Hookah, Virginia Coalition, The Pat McGee Band and many other national touring acts.

MER recently performed live at the House of Blues [Chicago, IL] on Friday, August 31st, 2007 for an all ages event as they celebrated the release of the new, full length LP, "Hand Written".  This eleven track collection features songs such as "All I Want", "Solid Love", "Home" and "Here".  Ranging from power pop to acoustic folk, "Hand Written" illustrates the pop sensability encompassed by MER's music.  Pick up your copy on iTunes!
